In this Basic Course on Trauma-Sensitive Support you will receive psychoeducation about trauma in a very interactive and practical way, by using symbols: simple objects like a bell, a folder, and a phone. What happens in the brain and the body during traumatic experiences? What are the consequences of trauma for the development of the brain, body and personality? You will learn to put on the so-called “trauma glasses”. With more knowledge and insight in the field of trauma, you will be able to better tailor your work, lessons, guidance or therapy to your target group. You will learn how to work in a trauma-informed way. And you will get to work with selfcare assignments, based on the idea that you can only take good care of others if you can take good care of yourself first.
Who can participate?
This Course is for all professionals or volunteers who are working with traumatized children, youngsters and/or adults. Amongst others: teachers, psychologists, therapists, doctors, nurses, coaches, sport trainers, foster parents, counselors, and other professionals from any country.
